Achievers Are Finishers
By: Oluwafisayo Akinlolu

?There is something for you to start that is destined for you to finish? ? (Myles Monroe)

In 1968, John Stephen Akhwari held the world spell bound and taught us all what it means to be an achiever. It was almost dark at the Mexico City Olympic stadium. Marathon runners were crossing the finishing line and only a few spectators were left when suddenly the wail of police sirens rose up.

Everyone wanted to see what was happening and staggering into the stadium was a stand alone runner wearing the Tanzanian shirt. His leg was bloody, crudely bandaged and he was hobbling the final laps of the 26mile contest. He had been injured in a fall.

As he hobbled along with stern determination, the crowd arose and applauded him like the winner of the race. After he crossed the finish line, he was asked why he kept going and not quit. ?My country did not send me 7,000miles to start the race. They sent me 7,000miles to finish it,? was his reply.

?The height of your accomplishments in life will equal the depts. Of your convictions? ? (William Scolavino). The universe?s reward system ain?t for starters. It is configured to reward the finishers! Peak performers are people who are committed to compelling mission.

William Cowper remarked that ?The only true happiness comes from squandering ourselves for a purpose.? Proverbs was very correct when is says; ?whatever your plan is, just know that nothing else will satisfy you.?

Develop the excellent spirit. Work at being an achiever ? simply learn to finish what you start because achievers are finishers. That is one of the extra that makes their ordinary extraordinary.
