Be Reconciled and Improve Your Relationships Immediately
By: Matt Shuebrook

Mercy Lord, Mercy?

When we talk about the topic of restoration and reconciling there are different levels in which we could speak upon. There is the eternal restoration which is our spirit being restored to God (only through the blood of Jesus the Christ). The other type of reconciliation is of earthly things, or timely matters if you will.

How do you join the two and how to separate the two?

Can you separate something that is meant to work together? Yes you can. The Bible says that the Word of God is sharper than any two edge sword, it is able to cut and divide joint from marrow, soul from spirit, etc. However it is imperative to note that without working joints, marrow wouldn?t be able to serve its full purpose. The same goes for our soul. As a believer in Jesus, our spirit is reconciled with the Lord, but our soul is in the state of being reconciled. A question was posed ?what do you do, when someone wants to reconcile with YOU, but not your GOD? What do you do when that person wants to be ?cool? with you but doesn?t want to know or hear about your God?

The Holy Spirit quickened my heart to say a few things.

1. Consider for a moment a leaking faucet. For a quick fix, you may run and get some duct tape. The duct tape will not last forever, only until the pressure of the leaking water builds up so much that the duct tape begins to dwindle away until it eventually bursts. Out comes a flood. What was thought to be restored or secured wasn?t. The duct tape was only able to fix it temporally, but it would take ?The Professional? to secure the faucet from leaking again.

The Lord our God is able to fix anything. He can fill any hole and heal any sickness or sorrow. What is impossible to man, is very possible to God. God simply has to speak a word and it MUST come into existence.

2. When we are looking to help amend a broken relationship or reach out and lend a hand in the world, we HAVE to use the eyes of God through the Spirit. If we look at situations through our own eyes, we will see what man sees. It is when we look at something through the Holy Spirit do we see the ?naturally unseen? (super-natural).

I urge you to seek God when dealing with worldly reconciliation. Because something may appear to be in working order but at any given moment the water may bust through the duct tape and all hell is released.

If you look at the Pharisees and Sadducees in the times of Christ, they appeared to be reconciled with God. From mans perspective they were holy people, they were in communion with the Lord. However God saw things very differently than the men of Israel.

God saw brokenness, stubbornness, pride, arrogance, self pity, self worship, idol worshipping, God saw his very commandments being mocked . Most of the prophets were badly persecuted. The Pharisees never wanted to hear any bad news or criticism, they simply sought after their own praise. It took willing souls to proclaim Gods Truth.

Jesus the Bread of Life chose to reveal to us just how wicked and perverse we actually are. Our hearts our wickedly deceitful above all things and unless we confess our sins to the Lord and ask for His forgiveness, grace and mercy to endure? The temptations and trials of the world will rush in like a flood and break us down in such a way? well I prefer not to go there right now, but you know what I was getting out. When a individual seeks your friendship but chooses to rebuke God you have to stand your ground. Remember what your foundation of life is, JESUS CHRIST YOUR ROCK. Stand firm!

If you apply Godly wisdom, you will undoubtedly surpass any worldly wisdom. Remember the word of God is sharper than ANY two-edged sword. It is able to break down strong holds and afflictions. With that being said it is important that you show the love of Jesus through your actions, thoughts and words.

I would suggest that if your ?friend? does not want to hear ?Jesus said this or the Bible says that? to secretly minister the Word to him or her. You could start off by saying, ? you know a very wise man once said ________ or I heard it said that if you ____________, etc?.

You and I both know that there is absolute healing in Gods word. If the person is willing to receive the ?wise mans? word and then he or she asks ?wow I never thought of that, who said such a remarkable thing?? Now you can simply input the wonderful name of JESUS CHRIST.

Any time we witness and move by the spirit it must be strategic. God is very strategic, He already knows what will happen under every circumstance. We need to ask God to give us insight on how to act under certain circumstance so that we can experience the desired outcome.

I urge you this year to make it a point to reconcile with anyone of your brothers that you may have a small tiff with. Matthew 5:23 reads 23Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and at the alter remember that your brother has ought against you; 24Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Let 2007 be a strategic plan. Allow the Lord do direct your every move. The Bible says that the righteous man?s steps are ordered from the Lord. In 2007 let the Lord order your steps. In the event that you fall down, remember the Bible also says the just man will fall 7 times, but he will get back up again. The key is that he recognized why and how he fell, repented and got back up.
