Success A Misunderstood Word By: Bradley Buller So you want to become successful? You want content and happiness. To love others and be loved. To be able to provide for your needs and the needs of those close to you. To feel alive and to know that your time here on earth matters. To make a difference. So what is success? Why does it seem to be so elusive for many people to achieve. How can you achieve success? Are there rules for success and if so are you following them? Here are some tips that you might want to consider and implement. What success is. #1. Success is what YOU want it to be. Define what it is for you. If you don't know what success is for you than you run the risk of pursuing other peoples definition of success. #2. Success is never achieved completely. It is a journey. As you become more successful your definition of success will change. Be aware of this. #3. Success is doing something everyday. Show up everyday and doing something that defines your definition of success no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you at the time. #4. Success is morally right. While you might achieve short term success at the expense of your values, in the long run real success is only possible when it is in harmony with your values. #5. Success is hard work. Real success will make you grow. Learn new things. Force you to face your fears. It will teach you humility. It will challenge you in ways you never thought possible. It will reshape you. #6. Success is learning to share. As you are striving for success are you willing to share and help others along the way with no thought of how it will benefit you? You will probably have no problem sharing success with those you love and care for, but can you share it with a total stranger? #7. Success is patience. It is learning to do the right things at the right time and than waiting. For you know you have set in motion events which will reward you and others. #8. Success is contentment. It is gratitude and wonder and a joyous appreciation of the fact that you are alive. And finally, Success is life itself. Live it , embrace it, strive for it and accomplish it.
